Sabang Freeport (BPKS) Management Committee plans to cooperate with PT Empat Mitra Indika Surya and Enertec Mitra Solusi (Enertec) in the field of renewable energy (EBT) to install and build 50MW solar photovoltaic power plants in the port area under its jurisdiction (Using idle land and building roofs in the port area), turning Chabang Free Port into a green port. The two parties signed an MOU recently.

Solar photovoltaic projects are the right way to reduce energy costs and reduce environmental impact. It can also support the development of local Sabang enterprises and promote energy independence.

"Indonesia still has great potential for the development of installing the solar panel mounting system to produce renewable energy. Indonesia's solar potential reaches 207.8 GW, but only about 153.8 MW is used." Basilio said on Friday (13/8).
